报告题目:Probing effects of nuclear shadowing and short-range nuclear correlations via UPCs at RHIC and eA collisions at an EIC
报 告 人:Tu Zhoudunming (涂周顿明)(Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA)
报告时间:2018年11月9日(星期五)上午10:00-11:30
报告地点:嘉定园区学术活动中心307房间
报告简介:
The strong correlation between EMC effect and Short-Range Correlation (SRCs) from small to large nuclei is one of the remaining puzzles in nuclear structure physics. There are many ongoing and future experiments that are specifically designed to further study the underlying mechanism of EMC effect and SRCs. In this talk, I will focus on a few newly developed ideas and their implications on using the current facility at Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider at BNL via Ultra-Peripheral Collisions, which can serve as an important connection to the EIC physics in the next decade.
报告人简介:
I graduated from the University of Kansas with double major of Physics and Maths in 2013, where I started my undergraduate research on the Zero Degree Calorimeter in the CMS experiment at the LHC. In 2018, I graduated from the Rice University with a PhD degree in experimental heavy ion physics. Since then, I have been a Goldhabor Fellow at Brookhaven National Lab working on the future EIC physics, H1 experiment at HERA, and STAR experiment at RHIC. My physics interest is mainly focusing on QCD and nuclear physics, e.g., strangeness and light flavor particle production, collectivity in two- and multi-particle correlation, heavy flavor directed flow, chiral effects, magnetic-field and vortical effects, short-range nuclear correlations in light nuclei, and quantum entanglement in high energy collisions.
